Standing literally at the gateway to beautiful Exmoor, The Anchor Inn at Exebridge nestles next to the River Exe and offers a warm welcome to visitors and locals alike.

The 17th Century Anchor Inn has been a focal point on Exmoor for many years, with an unrivalled reputation for offering excellent dining, high quality Bed and Breakfast accommodation and the most stunning views along the River Exe and out towards the majestic moorland that surrounds it.

The River Exe itself is famous for salmon and trout fishing, making The Anchor Inn an ideal base for a lazy weekend fishing from the tranquil banks or the neighbouring fishing lakes.

Superb B&B Accommodation

The Anchor Inn offers superb Bed and Breakfast accommodation with six rooms, including our Superior Room for a special weekend away. Overlooking the River Exe and our extensive gardens, the rooms are tastefully decorated to maximise relaxation. Breakfast is provided by our award-winning chef to your requirements.

The Anchor Inn has brought fine dining to this quiet part of Exmoor through our extensive restaurant facilities and superb team, led by Taste of the West 2004 winner Dan Kings.

Dan runs a catering team who are happy to provide our guests with anything ranging from a simple, home-cooked bar meal to a full, a la carte menu for that special occasion. All ingredients are fresh and, where possible, locally sourced, keeping food miles to a minimum.

Accommodation

As an Inn, The Anchor has accommodation available all year round. With six well-appointed rooms, including our Superior Room, our accommodation offers a relaxing, elegant and stylish base from which to explore the beauty of Exmoor.

Several of the rooms overlook the gardens and the River Exe, and all rooms offer views of the surrounding countryside.

Our accommodation is based around comfort and relaxation. Exmoor offers a huge range of activities, from riding, fishing, shooting, cycling, canoeing or just plain, simple walking, but at the end of a busy day, we will make sure your stay with us gives you the perfect ending to a perfect day.

Restaurants

The Anchor Inn at Exebridge has made fine dining fashionable again on Exmoor. This 17th Century Inn offers everything from simple bar meals to an extensive a la carte menu.

The Riverside Restaurant

The Riverside Restaurant overlooks our gardens and the River Exe, and can cater for large or small parties. It can be booked in advance for any special occasion.

We are more than happy to discuss special arrangements for weddings, birthdays or parties, and our top bar can easily cater for live music and dancing.

The Stables

In November 2007, The Anchor Inn opened its new, exclusive a la carte restaurant, The Stables. The Stables is open on Friday and Saturday nights, and has its own, separate menu. Tastefully decorated in soft tones and comfortable leather chairs, it offers a different calibre of dining from the usual night out. An extensive wine list, supplied by RA Vintners, ensures that the perfect drink accompanies the perfect meal. Seating is for 25 maximum, and availability is by reservation only.
