Description
The warmest of welcomes awaits everyone who steps over the threshold of this famous 17th century family run coaching inn and sporting hotel.Situated amongst 3 acres of gardens in the middle of Exford, one of Exmoor’s prettiest villages, surrounded by stunning countryside and moorland where Exmoor ponies, red deer and birds of prey roam free.
It is the ideal place to return to after a day's touring, riding or fishing, either in the warmth of summer or on a crisp and frosty winter’s day.
As a family run hotel we will do our utmost to make your stay as relaxing & enjoyable as possible. Whether its warming yourselves with a hot drink and toasted crumpet by our roaring log fires in winter or enjoying a cream tea in our beautiful water gardens in summer, we are sure to make you feel at home.
Don't forget dogs and horses are always welcome, after all they deserve a holiday too!
The elegant candlelit dining room boasts 2 AA Rosettes and, under the auspices of Head Chef Paul Webber, the Crown Hotel Restaurant has an excellent reputation both locally and nationally.
The balanced Dining Room menu allows the Chef to ensure all courses on the menu compliment and contrast one another in both flavour and texture. All ingredients are sourced for their quality and, wherever possible, are locally produced.
As one would expect of Exmoor’s oldest coaching inn, the hotel has a characterful bar which is very much the hub of village life.
Scrumptious bar food and many local ales are served in a candlelit setting beside a roaring log fire.
Dogs & Horses - Dogs and horses are most welcome to bring their well behaved owners with them!
