Description

Welcome to the Exmoor Pony Centre, within the heart of the Exmoor National Park. The Centre was opened in 2006 and is the home of The Moorland Mousie Trust, a registered charity dedicated to the promotion and conservation of the Exmoor Pony, currently classified as a rare breed.

Visitors are welcome to come and meet these lovely ponies and learn a little about their history and environment. We also offer riding for all abilities and hold special events throughout the year.

Tea and coffee are available on site and we have a small pony-themed shop selling varied merchandise including clothing, books, cards, gifts and artwork.

TREKKING ON EXMOOR
We offer competent riders a three-hour Exmoor Experience trek which includes grooming and tacking up your pony, with a good two hour ride. Your trek across the Winsford Hill area may take in the ancient Tarr Steps, spectacular views over the Punch Bowl, or the curious Caractacus Stone. You will also have the chance to spot the resident herds of Exmoor ponies, whose ancestors have roamed free for thousands of years, and much more of the abundant wildlife which makes Exmoor so special.
Booking essential.
Cost £40 per person.

TASTER SESSIONS
For those with little or no riding experience, we recommend our one hour Taster Session. These are private sessions tailored to individual ability. They are suitable for both adults and children, in fact, clients have ranged in age from 4 to 78 years! During this time, you will learn more about this special, ancient rare breed, about horse/pony care, and if you wish, the session will finish with a chance to ride on a pony in a comfortable, controlled environment within our indoor arena.
Booking essential.
Standard Cost £27.50 for up to 2 participants with 1 pony

(Flexible pricing and discounts also available for larger groups or pony adopters.)
