The town of Yeovil is situated in South Somerset close to the Dorset border. The town has a population of approximately 40,000 and has an excellent selection of shops, theatres, leisure and sport facilities.

The Quedam Shopping Centre, designed to replicate a village street, runs parallel to the main shopping area which includes all the major high street names. On tuesdays and fridays a street market is held in Lower Middle Street. Central to the town is the beautiful St John's Church, the grounds of which offer stunning floral displays each summer.

Yeovil boasts two theatres: the Octagon Theatre, and the Swan Theatre. At Yeo Leisure Park there is a ten screen cinema and an 18 lane bowling alley. Nearby Goldenstones Leisure Park has a fabulous Pool and health and fitness suite. Yeovil also has a dry ski slope at the Yeovil Alpine Village where you can improve your skiing technique or try out other winter sports. In addition the beautiful Ninesprings and Countryside Park offers relaxing walks within five minutes of the town centre.

Tthe National trust properties of Montecute House and Tintinhull House are just beyond the outskirts of the town. Motor enthusiasts will not want to miss a trip to the Haynes Motor Museum in Sparkford just off the A303, to the north of Yeovil. The Fleet Air Arm Museum will delight anyone with an interest in aeroplanes and the history of the Royal Navy. Here you can board Concorde as well as experiencing life on a simulated aircraft carrier.
