Description

A special welcome awaits you, not just from the owners, but from Jasper and Paddy, the very friendly retrievers at this fine stone farmhouse situated on the banks of the River Sheppey on the Somerset Levels, which has good views of Glastonbury Tor and the Mendip Hills.

Facilities/Activities
Fish at the bottom of the garden(!) or take a cycle ride from the farmhouse on the quiet roads of the Levels, which abound with birds and wildlife. Guests can play table-tennis or snooker (full size table) in the games room, or watch their own DVD’s in the well equipped bedrooms. The Farmhouse has one Master En-suite with four poster bed, a lovely large South facing room, ideal for that special weekend away.A Double En-suite and a Twin En-suite completes the Farmhouse rooms available. All are en-suite and offer hairdryers, complimentary beverages and freeview television. There is free internet access in the guest lounge. Double-Gate Farm is well known for its beautiful summer flower garden, home-grown tomatoes and fruit.

Riverside Suites.
Built in 2009, this is luxury accommodation which, if desired, can be adapted for use by the disabled. Three triple and one quad Suite. Rooms are exceptionally spacious with patio doors opening onto riverside frontage where there are tables and chairs for each room. Rooms have 26" TV/DVD, beverages, hair driers, fridge, ceiling fans and mood lighting. Each room has a very large en-suite wet room with shower, WC and two wash basins with sensory mirrors.
All Double-Gate ground floor areas are navigable by wheel chair.

Breakfast/Dinner
Delicious breakfasts are served in the new Garden Dining Room. A large conservatory type room but with solid ceilings and 180 degree views of house, garden and meadows. Choose from a selection of fruit, cereals, juice, yoghurt, compote and local cheeses, as well as full English breakfasts, kippers, mouth-watering pancakes with a variety of toppings and sauces, – all accompanied with home-made bread. In October 2010 we were awarded the Visit Britain Breakfast Award.
NEW FOR SUMMER 2009. Four ground floor Riverside Suites (3 triple suites, 1 quad superior suite) with en-suite wet rooms plus a lovely garden dining room.

Self Catering

This delightful barn conversion, adjacent to the farmhouse, offers the choice of self-catering accommodation or bed and breakfast. Attractive beamed lounge, with inglenook fireplace and log burner, has a colour TV and DVD.

There is a dining room, handsomely furnished in a Jacobean oak style, and for self-catering guests, an attractive and extremely functional kitchen.

Bedrooms
Sleeps 6 Adults + 2 foldaway beds for children. All bedrooms have colour TV/ DVD and hairdryers.

Disability friendly bathroom
The ground floor bedroom and bathroom has been carefully designed to allow turning space for a wheelchair and has wide door ways, and a large en-suite with wheel in power shower, two lever-tap basins and WC.
